Distraction Techniques

  • Get creative! Learn a new skill from YouTube, crochet, cook, draw, code!

  • Watch a comfort movie- my favourites are Easy A, Crazy Stupid Love, or any Studio Ghibli, PIXAR film, like Whisper of the Heart, Meet the Robinsons, or Ratatouille.

  • Watch a comfort TV show- my favourites are F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Avatar the Last Airbender, The Good Place or The Simpsons

  • Read a book! Find me on Storygraph (an ethical version of Good Reads) to see my favourites

  • Play video games- my favourites are SIMS, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Stardew Valley

  • Play boardgames- my favourites are A Little Wordy, Fungi, Codenames, and Munchkin

  • Spend time in nature and take deep breaths

  • Email me to join the communi-tea, an international support group where we have fun first and talk about illness second.

  • I am sure many of you are aware how beneficial Omega 3, Vitamin C, Magnesium, and Vitamin D are for many things, but they are also recommended for Chronic Pain!
