The Sea Gets It

Is chronic pain like the sea? Such a shock at first but you get used to it once you're in it. And the waves rolling on, always new, and just as you find your footing, swept away again.

Maybe it’s the pebbles. No day is the same but some go more smoothly.

All I know is when I'm smiling I'm still gasping for air.

All I know is when you think the shore is near you've floated further away.
