Monsters are real: Anxiety. Isolation. Fear. Illness. Loss. The indoctrination of a society to consider joy and rest unproductive and worthless. To leave our imaginations behind. We won’t need them!

I asked my ten year old self what she would like to do, and a forgotten love returned.

I played a video game. And I was reminded that having fun is a purpose all by itself.

That imagination is a survival tactic, something we always need but so often forget to nurture.

I am being attacked again and again by invisible monsters, my world is in jeopardy, I am immobilised by fear and pain.

How precious to be able to escape, to cook, climb, run, fly?

A new reality where I can fight monsters- and win.
