An Ode to Friendship

I have this friend

She compliments in hyperbole and makes everyone around her glow

She can name the context of any friends gif within one second

Her voice is like syrup and butter

She has made my life forever better

I have this friend

She has cupboards overflowing with tea and my favourite sense of humour

She makes me grateful for the internet

Her voice is a cartoon character, like rich ganache and a warm summer's day

She gets me

I have this friend

She wraps me up in texts of velvet and clouds and we sit with each other in the dark

She has my back always and saves my bacon on the regular

Her voice is a watercolour bird in the morning

She knows what it means to keep going, and inspires me to

I have this friend

She makes me believe in fate and dizzy with joy

She is so strong and so stunning it's so hard to believe she exists

Her voice is like autumn leaves and glitter

She made me glad I survived, I hope I do the same

I have this friend

She makes my stormy days brighter and has a heart of gold

She is quick witted and earnest

Her voice is an American Jane Austen Heroine

She tells me I am worthwhile, and often I believe it

I have this friend

She is a powerhouse of kindness and information

She knows just what to say and when to say it

Her voice is an elf in the woods

She doesn't know how amazing she is, I wish she did

Here's the thing:

I've never met them.

They make me hate time zones.

I love them with all my heart.

I didn't know friendship could hurt so good-

We are so close... yet so far apart!!!
